About the Artist: Adrian Klis

Adrian was originally born in Holland in the leather-making village of Kaatsheuvel. In 1994, he decided to move to Western Canada with his family where he took up his leather-craft trade at his farm in Bearberry.

Realizing that Canadian leather companies were not using bison in the early 1990’s, Adrian decided to use this wonderfully rugged & beautiful hide to craft his unmistakable wallets & bags.

After sending the hides back to Kaatsheuvel to be drum tanned naturally using vegetable extracts & zero chemicals, the result is backpacks, bags & wallets that need very little maintenance, developing a lovely patina as they age.

Starting out at farmer’s markets, Adrian now sells his products across Canada, but they are still lovingly made at his farm in Bearberry.
